Colorful Elegant Ranch
Gentry + Miranda
Miranda and Gentry both swiped right! Their first date was at Mikellar Bar in San Francisco. It was Miranda’s first date after moving back to the city so expectations were not high! The laughed, drank, and definitely overshared but knew there was much more about the other that they wanted to discover.
A Zion National Park Engagement
Gentry was planning for what he kept saying was his 30th birthday trip. The idea was to take Miranda’s 1991 VW Westfalia on a trip through Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Nevada to visit a few national parks. He had the trip planned to a “T”, almost so much where I had to ask “Hey, you remember I’m on this trip too, right??”
At 2 A.M. They awoke because the van was shaking due to a massive storm. Their phones were violently trying to inform us to evacuate because of flash floods but we had no way to leave. The campsite facilities were still recovering from damages a week ago, due to flash floods. Little did Miranda know Gentry had a photographer scheduled to secretly capture the proposal and his whole plan was going to hell in a handbasket but they endured and the plan held together.
Miranda gave him so many curveballs and challenges over that 0.5 miles all while Gentry was secretly trying to get them in position for the photo with the Zion Canyon Overlook backdrop. Their photographer, appearing like a tourist, was taking pictures of rocks and squirrels while spying on us. Gentry got down on one knee and proposed with his grandmother’s ring and I (somehow) NEVER saw it coming.
Brasada Ranch Wedding
They were looking for a specific location to cover their desire of a weekend getaway for all family and friends to stay at the same location. They wanted warm weather, golf, and a sweet pool where all their friends and family could gather for daytime fun. From a poolside welcome party to the big day they wanted it all at one location. Sabrina Peters at J29 events, their incredible wedding planner, brought them a few locations in and outside of Bend. Brasada Ranch checked all the boxes that they wanted.
Guest and Wedding Party Gifts
Sabrina worked closely with Miranda and Gentry throughout the entire process. Every vendor was picked with great attention to detail. They worked with Ames and Oates, to curate bridal party gifts, guest welcome boxes and customized wedding favors. Amanda, with The Scribblist designed the custom watercolor Brasada maps.
The Florist That Traveled
Jacci of Poppy Cart in the California Bay Area traveled all the way from California. When her refrigerator rental van fell through she did what she had to make sure Miranda and Gentry got the flowers of their dreams. Her trip was a long and cold travel. Stopping every few hours to refill with ice and driving the whole way with the ac blasting! Jacci arrived cold but with a truck full of beautiful blooms.

A Designer and Coordinator That Went Above & Beyond
When the designer of your wedding also happens to be your high school friend you know she will go all in. And that is exactly what Sabrina did for Miranda. Having know the family for so long, she was able to make sure special moments were incorporated. Sabrina secretly recreated the wedding cake that Miranda’s Mom and late Dad had at their wedding.
Honoring Family
It was important to include my late father in the festivities so we dedicated the bar to him, so fitting. It was the perfect sentimental yet fun touch for us.
By chance both of our father’s favorite cigar is a montecristo #4. We also set up a special cigar bar.

Ceremony on the Range Lawn at Brasada
For the ceremony, guests gathered on the Range Lawn over looking panoramic mountain views.
Miranda said “The color palette took a minute to perfect since I had zero direction of what I wanted, other than I knew it needed to be fun and colorful. We went with a mixture of warm and cool tones, not easy to pull together for decorations or bridesmaid dresses, but it turned out way better and was exactly what I hoped it to be.“
A Western Reception at the Barn
Miranda and Gentrys Favorite Memory
Miranda and Gentry both said “Seeing all of our friends and family doing the “Banzai!” cheer will be forever ingrained in my memories. You could see the pure joy in everyone’s faces and the meaning behind it – “live 10,000 years” – made it extra special. Also to see two of my closest friends bring the crowd to their feet along with my father-in-law was a moment I only could have dreamed of at our wedding.“
There is no doubt their reception was a blast. There ran into their first dance like a player running onto the court then partied the night away.
Advice from a Bride
“Planning a wedding can be stressful, so many decisions. My only advice is to focus on what matters to you as a couple and hold true to what that is. I made concessions often because they didn’t matter to me, don’t let the details hold you back. When it comes to the day of, stay in the moment as often as you can. You’ll hear this all the time but it goes so fast. Take each interaction and each moment and try to soak in as many as you can, then by the end of the day you’ll say, “oh my goodness, that was the best day of my life” and want to fall asleep immediately. Wishing you and yours and fun time planning the celebration of your love. “
