Griffin House Wedding in Hood River, Oregon
Danny & Victoria
The Griffin house is a beautiful wedding venue overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. The views are unbeatable, which made The Griffin house a very enticing wedding venue for Danny and Victoria’s wedding day. Danny is a landscape photographer. So having traveled all over and photographed so many beautiful spots, they knew they needed a wedding venue with stunning pacific northwest views.
I want you to know how much we LOVE our photos! I literally can’t have more than a day or so without relooking at the entire album. You captured the day and our love so beautifully – thank you so much! Danny and I can’t decide on which couples portraits to print out and frame big because we love so many!
Just as important as the final photos, we want to thank you so much for your excitement and kindness throughout our entire day (and during the engagement shoot). We feel so lucky to have had you with us – you put us at ease through the entire experience.
-Victoria

A Romantic Griffin House Wedding in the Columbia River Gorge
A Griffin House wedding offers one of the most breathtaking ceremony backdrops in Oregon. Perched high above the Columbia River Gorge, this Hood River wedding venue is known for its panoramic views, dramatic landscapes, and intimate atmosphere. For couples who love nature and want their wedding day to feel elevated yet personal, the Griffin House is hard to beat.
Danny and Victoria planned a day that felt true to them, relaxed, intentional, and focused on being present with their people. The natural beauty of the Gorge did most of the work, creating a setting that felt both grand and deeply meaningful.

Getting Ready at the Griffin House
One of the biggest perks of a Griffin House wedding is the ability to get ready onsite. The house itself is filled with beautiful natural light, making it ideal for calm, unrushed mornings and meaningful getting ready photos. Victoria spent the morning surrounded by her closest friends while final details came together, while Danny prepared nearby, soaking in the anticipation of the day.
Having everything in one location allowed the timeline to flow effortlessly and gave us more time for portraits and candid moments.

Grand Reveal
The grand reveal or first look is a favorite part of the day for me for so many reasons. Usually, I can see the stress and worry melt away when the couple sees each other. I love it when couples choose to do a grand reveal because it means we will have more time for photos together with the two of you. It also means you get to enjoy more of the fabulous dinner party you’ll be throwing, rather than rushing out after your ceremony to do photos. There are several other reasons why I love a grand reveal but those are just a few.

Wedding Party at Griffin House
Danny and Victoria both said they wanted their wedding party to be casual and not a big thing. They just wanted to celebrate and be surrounded by their community, family, and friends.

Ceremony at Griffin House with a view
The ceremony site at the Griffin House is truly iconic. Guests were seated overlooking the Columbia River Gorge, with layers of hills and river stretching endlessly behind the couple. It was a windy day, which is common in Hood River, but the energy only added to the emotion and drama of the moment.
Danny and Victoria exchanged vows surrounded by the people they love most, with the Gorge standing still behind them. It was heartfelt, emotional, and unforgettable.

Cocktail Hour and Reception at Griffin House
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the lawn, taking in the views and celebrating together as the light shifted across the Gorge. The reception felt warm and intimate, filled with laughter, meaningful toasts, and a relaxed flow that encouraged connection.
One of the things I love most about a Griffin House wedding is how naturally the day unfolds. The setting invites people to slow down, look around, and truly be present.

Tips for Planning a Griffin House Wedding
Here are some ideas to help you make the most of your Griffin House wedding experience:
