A Love Story Years in the Making

Jason and Madelyne’s love story began in the most unexpected of places—work! Although they were in different departments, Madelyne remembers the first time she met Jason during his interview and how he immediately made a lasting impression. As coworkers, their friendship grew into something more, with flirtatious conversations and a group scavenger hunt in Seattle becoming the spark that set their journey in motion. Nearly nine years later, they are not just partners in life, but best friends who have built a beautiful future together.

Jason’s proposal was just as thoughtful as their love story. On their seventh anniversary, during a stop in Portland on their way to a family camping trip, Jason surprised Madelyne with a heartfelt proposal while watching the sunset at her aunt’s home. With the mountains in the background and a beautiful ring in hand, he asked her to spend forever with him—a moment they celebrated with champagne and joyful tears.

An Elegant Wedding at The Loft at Russell’s

When it came to choosing a venue, The Loft at Russell’s was the perfect choice for Jason and Madelyne. Located just across the street from their home, the historic barn setting with exposed wooden beams created a warm and intimate atmosphere.

Their wedding color palette was classic and timeless—white florals paired with lush greenery. The bridesmaids wore soft eucalyptus colored dresses, and the groomsmen’s ties perfectly complemented the aesthetic. White roses, hydrangeas, baby’s breath, and fresh eucalyptus filled the space, creating a romantic and organic ambiance.

Both Jason and Madelyne incorporated meaningful family heirlooms into their wedding attire. Madelyne wore her mother’s engagement ring, a piece passed down through generations, while Jason carried a handkerchief from his late father inside his suit pocket, keeping a cherished memory close to his heart.

Unforgettable Moments & Special Touches

One of the most special moments of the day was Jason and Madelyne’s private vow exchange. Wanting to write personal vows without the pressure of reading them in front of 120 guests, they shared their heartfelt promises in an intimate moment before the ceremony. Captured beautifully in photographs, this emotional exchange set the tone for the rest of the day.

Their ceremony featured a stunning wooden arch adorned with lush floral arrangements, which was later repurposed as the backdrop for their sweetheart table. The evening ended on a magical note with a sparkler exit, creating a picture-perfect finale to an incredible celebration.

Advice from the Couple

Jason and Madelyne’s top advice for future couples? Hire a wedding planner! Their planner played an instrumental role in making their wedding day stress-free and seamless. They also emphasize building extra time into the wedding day timeline—giving yourself breathing room ensures that everything flows smoothly without feeling rushed.

Why They Chose Me as Their Seattle Wedding Photographer

I first met Jason and Madelyne years ago when I photographed Jason’s sister’s wedding in 2016. Even back then, Madelyne told me she had already decided that if she and Jason ever got married, I would be their photographer! It was such an honor to capture their love story, and I am beyond grateful to have been a part of their wedding day. Their trust in me to document their most important moments means the world, and I know these images will be cherished for a lifetime.

I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames, and hung on walls for years to come.

I believe in powerful love. Above all, I believe that love is a powerful force in the universe, and I want to preserve true love, beauty, light, and all the moments in life.
