GET TO KNOW ME

Sitting around a campfire or dressed in heels and pearls. A country girl at heart with a love for travel. I craft a fun, lighthearted experience while filling galleries with serene, light, beautiful, classic images.

I believe in real moments. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.

I believe in long walks along the beach or woods with my hubby, kiddos and a dog (or two) by my side… no really, I do!

One of the biggest draws of a Brasada Ranch wedding is the incredible panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains. The Barn – A charming, rustic yet elegant setting with high vaulted ceilings, wooden beams, and plenty of space for dinner and dancing.

My top tips for a

brasada Ranch Wedding

Time Your Ceremony for Golden Hour – The high desert sunsets here are breathtaking! Plan your ceremony about 1.5-2 hours before sunset for the most flattering light and dreamy golden-hour portraits.

Prepare for High Desert Weather – Central Oregon weather can be unpredictable. Bring shawls or blankets for chilly evenings, and consider offering sunscreen or parasols for summer ceremonies.

Utilize the Scenic Backdrops – From the Trestle Bridge to the open fields and mountain views, Brasada Ranch has endless stunning photo locations. Allow time in your timeline for a variety of portrait spots!

Book Lodging Early – On-site accommodations fill up fast, especially in peak season. Reserve cabins for your wedding party and guests well in advance.

Consider a Cozy Winter Wedding – If you love an intimate, magical winter vibe, Brasada Ranch looks absolutely stunning with a light dusting of snow! The cozy indoor spaces make it a perfect winter wedding destination.

A FEW OF the MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT from  brasada ranch wedding photographer and in general

FAQ

Absolutely! Getting ready at Brasada Ranch is not only convenient but also enhances the experience of your wedding day. The ranch offers luxurious cabins, suites, and lodge-style accommodations, making it easy for both partners to prepare on-site while still maintaining a special "first look" or aisle reveal moment.

Here’s why getting ready at Brasada Ranch is a great choice:

Seamless Timeline – Staying on-site means no travel logistics, keeping your day stress-free and allowing more time for photos.
Beautiful Getting Ready Spaces – The rooms and cabins are bright, stylish, and offer stunning backdrops for those pre-ceremony moments. TIP! Always look for the location with the most natural light.
Private & Spacious – There are plenty of options for separate getting-ready areas so you can avoid seeing each other before the ceremony if you prefer.
Easy Access for Your Photographer & Videographer – With both of you on-site, your photo and video team can easily capture both of your preparations without losing time in transit.
Relaxing Atmosphere – Start your day with a slow morning, enjoy breakfast, or even book a spa treatment at the Brasada Ranch Spa to ease into the big day!

Many couples choose to get ready in separate cabins or suites and then come together for a first look or private vow exchange before the ceremony. No matter how you envision your morning, Brasada Ranch provides a luxurious and peaceful setting to kick off your wedding day.

Brasada Ranch offers a variety of breathtaking backdrops for your family portraits, ensuring a mix of scenic beauty and soft, natural lighting. Here are my top recommended spots:

Trestle Bridge – This rustic bridge provides an iconic high-desert backdrop with open skies and panoramic mountain views. It’s a great spot for both intimate and large group family portraits.
Pond near the Bridge – This spot offer a green and lush feel . Giving your photos a much different look then the traditional high-desert look.
The Barn at Brasada Ranch – If you love a touch of rustic charm, the barn’s wooden textures and warm tones make for a cozy, timeless setting.
The Range Lawn – This area offers sweeping views of the Cascade Mountains, making it a stunning and open-air location for larger family portraits. The light here can be harsh, so I recommend this location the lighting is a bit softer.
Rolling Hills & Open Fields – Just steps from the main ranch, these open landscapes create a serene, natural setting with golden light, especially in the evening.
Lodge Patio & Firepit Area – If you’re looking for a relaxed, candid setting, the outdoor patios offer a more intimate atmosphere with beautiful stonework and warm tones.
For the best lighting, I recommend scheduling family portraits either before the ceremony (if you prefer a first look) or during cocktail hour when the sun is lower in the sky, creating a soft, golden glow.

Brasada Ranch does not allow traditional sparkler exits due to fire safety regulations in Central Oregon’s high-desert climate. However, there are still plenty of creative and fun alternatives to make your grand exit just as magical.

Some popular options include LED or fairy light wands, which create a similar sparkling effect without the fire hazard. Glow sticks or cold sparklers are another safe and fun way to light up your send-off. A lantern or candlelight exit can add a romantic glow, while a confetti or flower petal toss brings color and texture to your exit photos. Bubbles or dried lavender tosses also create a whimsical, picture-perfect moment with a soft and romantic feel.

A grand exit can be a beautiful way to end your wedding night, but it’s completely optional. If you’re having a late-night party vibe, you might prefer an open dance floor send-off instead. If you do want an exit moment, I recommend checking with the venue on approved options ahead of time, and making it fun and interactive for your guests.

My photography style is a mix of documentary and guided direction, depending on the moment. During family photos and posed portraits, I take a hands-on approach, giving clear direction to ensure everyone is in the right place and looking their best. When it’s time for couple portraits, I guide you through natural poses while keeping things relaxed and fun.

For the rest of the day, I take a more candid approach, capturing real moments as they unfold. During getting ready, I might gently guide you toward the best window light but let the moments happen naturally. My goal is to document the day as it truly feels while making sure you look great in the process.

I also work closely with each couple to understand what they love most about their venue. I highlight the best features of Brasada Ranch in portraits while being mindful of areas they may not want emphasized. Every wedding is unique, and I make sure my approach reflects what’s most important to you.

I photographed my first wedding in 2009. While the number of weddings I take on per year typically varies. It's safe to say that I have shot well over 200 weddings.
