Behind the Scenes
2015
oh… my… GOSH!! What I am about to show you is probably one of the most embarrassing post I will ever do. There isn’t always a super put together, not dorky person behind the camera getting the photos you see lol. So set back and have a good laugh at my expense!
First things first! I am a whopping 5 foot 5 inches on a good day! So I am always looking for ways to get the shot that I need, which isn’t always easy! I know all my fellow short photographers feel my pain!
This is how you stand while holding a camera and a pillar all at the same time!
And this is how you stand while holding a camera and pillar and trying to have some class and grace about yourself ahah
I am not sure how tall it makes me when I stretch my arms out, but HEY every little bit helps!
Apparently I needed to get my workout for the day, so why not do some lunges while I photograph some beautiful people!
Lets get low!
“I have a vision Danielle! I can see it in my head! Trust me!”
“Yay! I wasn’t crazy!!” Well… maybe!
Oh hey! Don’t mind me I am just totally going to jump in your shot and photo bomb a first look.
This was the wedding that I decided that my current camera strap situation just wasn’t cutting it anymore.
“Hold my gear! I am going in!”
That one time I got pulled onto the dance floor after handing my camera over for a second!
After family photos, Uncle Joe came up and said “Let me take the photographers photos!” He just kept going and going! ahaha
I hope no one was walking behind me cause I was totally sticking my booty out there!
This was the moment that I fell in LOVE with my new Holdfast camera straps!
Gather around! Lets all look at the tiny screen!
Ohhh! Don’t mind me! Just hangin out in the middle of a wedding aisle.
Holy Cow! By the time it was time for sunset photos apparently I was just a hot mess at Mario and Baileys’ wedding!
Ahhh I look like I am going in for a hug with Aaron and Lindsay is NOT ok with it! I am not sure what I was doing, but don’t worry I wasn’t going in for a hug hehe
We’re walking. We’re walking!
P.S that is totally their family shot list sticking out of my bra! See I told you this would be embarrassing for me!
At this moment I loved my new super cute (and thrifty) bag that I got from Target for $11 and then made into a camera bag!
Aaaannnnd at this moment I hated it ever since! It became way to small for all the stuff I need to have on me during a wedding day.
I seem to do a whole lot of dress holding/helping to walk on a wedding day. Poor Kaitlyn though! I thought I was helping her while holding her train, but it isn’t super helpful when I try and pass her up while still holding the back of her dress! Even the groomsmen in the back is like “what is she doing?!?”
For all of the times that I walk backwards, I am completely blown away that I haven’t fallen more than I have.
I don’t even know lol
If I pop one foot I am pretty sure it might make me like half an inch taller.
If you want to really test your self-esteem, try being around sweet, beautiful people all day and being this short, hot mess in the back all the time hehe.
More dress holding!
Was I telling them to quack like a duck?!?!
I don’t really know how to fold one of these 😉
You want me to do what???!!
Let me just do a little yard work here while I blind you with my pasty whiteness.
I have had to help a bride ( or two or three) get into their dress.
When we are short on time and the bride didn’t want to wear her veil anymore I will gladly volunteer!
Oh, look at my toes!
Still rockin that veil!
Ann REALLY wanted this shot! So I did what I had to do!
Everybody lean with me!
WOW! I was tan! I need to spray tan way more often. I swear I look 10 lbs thinner! 😉
Now lets do the duck walk backwards!
“Oh you thought I was joking?!?HEHE YA… No.. I really want you to do that.”
Just… half an inch more!
Quack with me! Everyone is doing it!
I really do love what I do!
Pop it!
That time I went to check out a venue and sent the bride and groom this lovely selfie.
Oh the details!
I swear I get a better shot when I stick my tongue out.
Or make these stupid faces…
And push off!
Why can’t anyone see my vision!! Just kidding, I am not really that dramatic 😉
Oh hold on, let me rip this hair tie off of your arm…
and add it to my collection.
Now you see me…
Now you don’t!
If I fall in the pond it will be bad.
Just…need… to …be.. taller!
My daughter, Shavelle was the flower girl at my cousins wedding this summer. So naturally she wanted to be my little assistant 🙂
Now this is a really behind the scenes photo for you. This is where the work all goes down. It isn’t pretty or glamorous (actually it’s a downright mess!) but it works!
Now of course I owe all of these great/embarrassing behind the scene photos to all wonderful photographers I have worked with this year. Here are just a few of them! I didn’t get a shot of sweet Michelle Damm, but your amazing as well doll!
Aubree and her super cute baby bump!
The Super amazing and wickedly talented Cat!
The always totally prepared, helpful and amazing Amanda!
My sister from another mother, Amanda! I love this lady!
And a few selfies with just a few great people!
Well that wraps it up! I hope you had a great, long laugh at me!
