GET TO KNOW ME
Sitting around a campfire or dressed in heels and pearls. A country girl at heart with a love for travel. I craft a fun, lighthearted experience while filling galleries with serene, light, beautiful, classic images.
I believe in real moments. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together.
I believe in long walks along the beach or woods with my hubby, kiddos and a dog (or two) by my side… no really, I do!
The Griffin House is a stunning wedding venue perched above the Columbia River Gorge, offering sweeping views and a peaceful, private setting for your wedding day. The natural beauty of the landscape is front and center here, with wide open skies, rolling hills, and expansive Gorge views that create an unforgettable backdrop for both your ceremony and portraits.
Couples who choose Griffin House are often drawn to its relaxed elegance and sense of place. The venue feels elevated without being formal, allowing your wedding day to feel intentional, personal, and connected to the surrounding scenery. From the ceremony lawn to the reception space, every part of the property is designed to highlight the views while still feeling warm and welcoming.
This balance of natural beauty and thoughtful design is what makes Griffin House such a memorable place to get married and a dream location to photograph.

Timing matters more than you think
The light at Griffin House is at its best later in the day. Planning your ceremony for the late afternoon or early evening allows the sun to drop lower over the Gorge, creating softer light and richer tones during your ceremony and portraits. This also gives you the opportunity to step away briefly for sunset photos without rushing.
Build space into your timeline
The Griffin House encourages a slower, more intentional pace. Building in extra time between events helps the day feel calm and unhurried. This is especially helpful for portraits, family photos, and transitioning from ceremony to reception without feeling rushed.
Plan for wind and changing conditions
Because of its elevated location, wind is common at Griffin House, particularly in spring and early summer. Choosing attire and hairstyles that move naturally will help you stay comfortable and photograph beautifully. Light layers are also a good idea for cooler evenings.
Make It a Wedding Weekend
Because The Griffin House is located just over an hour from Portland, it is easy for guests to travel in while still feeling like a destination wedding. Many couples choose to extend the celebration with a welcome party or casual gathering the night before the wedding.
Hood River offers plenty to do for wedding parties and guests, from scenic hiking in the Columbia River Gorge to exploring local wineries, breweries, and downtown shops. Planning one or two simple activities helps guests feel connected and sets a relaxed tone for the weekend.
A wedding at Griffin House is all about the setting, the light, and the experience you create for your guests. Because the venue is perched high above the Columbia River Gorge, thoughtful planning can help you fully enjoy the day while also getting the most out of your photography.

My photography style is a mix of documentary and guided direction, depending on the moment. During family photos and posed portraits, I take a hands-on approach, giving clear direction to ensure everyone is in the right place and looking their best. When it’s time for couple portraits, I guide you through natural poses while keeping things relaxed and fun.
For the rest of the day, I take a more candid approach, capturing real moments as they unfold. During getting ready, I might gently guide you toward the best window light but let the moments happen naturally. My goal is to document the day as it truly feels while making sure you look great in the process.
As a Griffin house wedding photographer, I also work closely with each couple to understand what they love most about their venue. I highlight the best features of the Griffin house views in portraits while being mindful of areas they may not want emphasized. Every wedding is unique, and I make sure my approach reflects what’s most important to you.
I photographed my first wedding in 2009. While the number of weddings I take on per year typically varies. It's safe to say that I have shot well over 200 weddings.
