Del Mar Villa is our own little slice of Lake Como in the pacific northwest. The first time I saw Del Mar Villa it instantly felt like I was stepping into a wedding in Lake Como, Italy. The architecture and grounds feel as if they were modeled after Villa Balbiano. When we designed this day we wanted to keep it feeling as if you were at a wedding in Lake Como or a wedding on the Amalfi coast.
When The White Wren featured this day they said it was a beautiful and classic wedding. Which we couldn’t agree more with.
From Ashley, the planner: “On a bright, crisp and clear morning, several vehicles rolled slowly up the drive to the magnificent Del Mar Villa to create an exceptional and beautiful day for Kelsey + Danny. There are few things as exciting to wedding vendors as a gorgeous venue paired with a weather forecast that does exactly what it was forecasted to do. With the sun shining brightly and casting the most gorgeous golden glow through the Villa, we got to work making some magic.
Kim of Swoon Floral Design joined us to create the most beautiful altar installation in one of the Juliet balconies featured on the property. There was a lush, ‘Secret Garden’ feel to this installation, with the vines and floral looking like they bloomed right out of the doors leading to beautiful Oregon Wine Country. Kelsey’s bouquet was beautifully punctuated with roses, butterfly ranunculus, clematis vine foliage, and spiraea.
Using blooms found throughout the day, Kim also created some incredible centerpieces for our tablescape. Adorned in linen from Nuage Designs and decorated with rentals from Bridgewood Events/The Party Place PDX, designer and stylist Ashley Lachney had a vision for bringing the French Countryside to Oregon. “I wanted this to feel like a breath of fresh air – like you could come out to this table and feel refreshed after sharing a meal around it.” White sandglass chairs sat alongside the table, providing the perfect and stylish spot for guests to perch while enjoying a meal.
Kelsey and Danny both looked stunning in their white attire. Kelsey chose a simple, crepe silk dress by Theia, topped with chiffon and pearl-dotted shirt by Madi Lane Bridal. Kelsey’s attire came from Ania Bridal in Portland, OR, with shoes from Bella Belle Shoes. Her makeup and hair were timelessly styled by Cassandra of Cassandra Kennedy Beauty.
Danny wanted to compliment his bride without choosing a competing color – so a classic white notch-lapel tux jacket with a black bow tie sealed the deal on this groom’s style. Danny’s attire came from The Black Tux.
Other photographed details of the day included a stunning tall, two-tier cake by Dream Cakes in the style of the slate plaster-patterned linens from the dining table and a beautiful invitation suite from Ink and Press Co. What timeless celebration is complete without finishing off the day pouring champagne into dozens of coupe glasses?
