Waverley Country Club Wedding- Portland, Oregon

February 27, 2024

|

Kristin and Miles met in Newport Beach, CA on Cinco de Mayo in 2017. Miles had recently moved back to Newport from Dallas, Texas. They were both out with friends and met at Cassidy’s. Kristin and Miles had mutual friends from the University of Oregon.  Kristin was living in San Francisco at the time so they did long distance for 2 years before Kristin moved down to Southern California. The rest is history!

A Newport Beach Proposal

Miles proposed to Kristin on St. Patrick’s Day in Newport Beach in 2022. They were walking on the dock to get on a Duffy boat to go to dinner and he popped the question. He surprised her with family and they went to the Cannery for a celebratory dinner. On the ride back the celebration continued when they stopped at the Balboa Fun Zone to celebrate with some local friends. A Saint Patrick’s day we will never forget!

A Waverley Country Club Wedding

Kristin and Miles got married in the church that Kristin grew up going to and where Kristin went to school. Kristin was baptized in the same church. A long time friend of Kristin’s family, Deacon Kevin Welch married Kristin and Miles.

Kristin dreamed about having her wedding reception at Waverley Country Club.  Waverley is a stunning and traditional venue that showcases the beauty of the pacific northwest. Kristin wanted a classic and timeless wedding and Miles’s passion for golf made it the perfect venue for the couple.

Signature Wedding Style

They incorporated some of Kristin’s Scottish heritage into their day by having Stumptown Piper perform on the bagpipes before guests sat down for dinner. Kristin and Miles were inspired after seeing the bagpiper at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach and wanted to incorporate the golf links tradition and Kristin’s heritage into their day.

Miles’s signature cocktail was a transfusion which was a huge hit with the guests! It is known as golf’s greatest cocktail! The couple also had monogrammed ice cubes from PDX for old fashioned.

Miles’s cousin Jordan Gutierez (whose kids were in our wedding) monogrammed beautiful napkins for the head table which was a great personalized touch.

Kristin and Miles both said having so many guest travel from California meant so much to them. For many of them this was their first time to Oregon. They said some of their favorite memories from their day were the first look, enjoying our signature cocktails on the balcony overlooking cocktail hour, and walking out to Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!

let's connect

I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames, and hung on walls for years to come.

I believe in powerful love. Above all, I believe that love is a powerful force in the universe, and I want to preserve true love, beauty, light, and all the moments in life.
